About K-12 Alliance Programs
The K-12 Alliance unites three premier state-wide professional development programs:
- California Science Implementation Network (CSIN)
- Science Partnerships for Articulation and Networking (SPAN)
- Scope, Sequence, and Coordination (SS&C)
|
The K-12 Alliance offers opportunities to participate in systematic reform through training
in content, pedagogy and leadership to effect school change. Professional development
programs provide K-12 networking on a local, regional, and statewide basis through four
programs:
- Long Term for school change.
- Associate for content enrichment.
- Hub for networking.
- Bridge for readiness to implement standards-based education.
CSIN, SPAN AND SS&C have received national recognition. CSIN is cited in designing
professional development for mathematics and science teachers and in
the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse's "Ideas that Work,
Science Professional Development." SPAN
was recognized as only one of five middle school science programs nationally as a
"results-based" professional development program by the
National Staff Development Council.
